Because I Care

Hi everyone. I'm going to make this post short and sweet since two granddaughters are still visiting for another 10 days. They sure have been keeping me busy, but I love it all... I think.  8-)
The two cards I am posting both used the NEW Hostess Level 1 set called "Because I Care".
This surely is going to be a NEW favorite of mine.
In the first example I stamped the beautiful hydrangea and sentiment with the NEW color EARLY EXPRESSO - What a great deep rich brown. I then colored it lightly with a NEW IN color  Poppy Parade write marker and blended quickly using  a blender pen.  I lightly sponged Early Expresso on everything including the background piece made stamping several difinitions from the Define Your Life set. I tied string around the center, added a few dimensional to adhere to the front.

The second card used the same "Because I Care" stamp set for the flower and sentiment but this time I stamped in Early Expresso  with  another NEW color Marina Mist blue for the ink and cardstock. Then added a simple NEW Marina Mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon Very simple assembly.

PPA46 challenge

This will be a very short post with this card for the second time, but just because I want to enter the Pals Paper color challenge. I LOVE Crushed Curry and will miss it terribly - except for my personal use...
Bird on Branch Bigz Die to make this easle card. I love the easel cards to send to people who like to display them for a time, like a gramma or other special person.

I'm including the second card in this post showing more curry and bermuda bay and curry, but I have black accent instead of the brown swuade tones.  I used the 'two step bird punch' and the Bigz flower dies to create this card. Pretty simple layering I think the color combo of bermuda bay and curry will always remain a favorite. Hope you like it.

SweetPea Pages

Wow.. Two posts in one week and I thought I'd switch it up a little. I decided to post a few scrapbook pages I have already prepared to fill with those wonderful pictures of my grandkids when they arrive for a visit next week. All I have to say about that is.... "Can't Wait"!

I used the SweetPea DSP which I just Love, Love, love for this two page layout. It has been one of my all time favorite DSPs as well as all things "SweetPea".

I made a few flowers with the Extra large flower punch, then used a bone folder to break down the fibers before separating the edges. I punched a few circle and added a brad to the centers, then I added them across the two pages to give some dimension to my pages with a few glue dots.

Plenty of room for a few favorite pictures that will surely develop over the next few weeks, plus I left room to add my journaling at a later date.

Last but not least, since the pages will be for my 'grand'children I couldn't help leaving a heartfelt message I think will apply wonderfully! 'Love You Much' stamped from the "Well Scripted" set on Whisper White and set atop several sizes of  punched circles. Simple but effective.

Did I mention the girls are staying for a extended trip after mom & dad return to MO.? 3 weeks! Whew.... Gramma may be MIA for a while on this blog, but it will be Oohhhhh so worth it!

Well that's all for now... Hootie says... "Thanks for stopping by & please visit often".

Z-Fold Card and Ruffles!

Hi everyone. Whew.... it's been a long two weeks. I've been out of town for work in Lexington, KY and Irupato, Mexico so it's been a while since my last post.
Today I'm going to post two cards. The first one is called a Z-fold which found on a blog by Carla Bazhenow. I changed it up a little by using two colors instead of one; Crushed Curry CS & Rich Razzelberry DSP [FAV of mine] and this a color of which I'll never tire. Here is what mine looks like.

I think the two colors together are so rich looking. Don't you?
Here is the card closed.

I used the Circle Scallop Die #2, the scallop punch, and also learned how make a scallop inbetween the using a 1 3/8" punch first then going around the circle with the slit punch! How cool is that. I used the polka dot rich razzleberry ribbon with dots showing, where as Carla turned her ribbon to the plain side. I just couldn't cover those adorable dots. I LOVE polka dots and I'm going to miss them as I heard the polka dot ribbons will be discontinued. [Say it isn't so]. The full directions can be found on Carla's blog.

The next card I saw on my upline's blog over at  Canopy Crafts and just had to give it a try as well. The following is my 'prototype' and certainly could have been more precise,  but I just wanted to get the idea down when it was fresh in my mind. I do plan to use the Ruffle technique again and again.

Well that's it for now!

Hootie says "Thanks for stopping - what a Hoot!" and please leave comment; I always like to hear what you think.
