Sense of Time - 60th Birthday {PP#62}

Hi everyone.
 I just posted this yesterday night, and as luck would have it, I found out this morning the Paper Players has a theme challenge... Birthdays!  I LOVE to play along when I can but this is a BUSY weekend and I likely will not have to time to do another. So I decided I would come back this morning to edit my post for the Paper Players  "Birthdays" challenge {PP#62}. Hope that's okay!
This is a quick post to show the masculine vintage card I made for my friend on his 60th birthday. I used the stamp set "Sense of Time" because, for me anyway, when I recently turned the Big 6 0....TIME seemed to matter a little more. So here is my card.
The card base is crumb cake distressed (I'll just say now that I distressed everything!). with the spritzer and layered with cherry cobbler cs and wood pattern Well Worn DSP. I layered another piece of newsprint then I wrapped that entire mat with piece of wide striped ribbon, frayed one side then tied at the top with trimmed edge scrap.
I glazed the 'watch' with crystal effects (let it dry overnight) and added a antique brad to the center. Now if you look really close you'll see I used an old broken necklace as the watch chain...too funny, eh?  I clipped the clasp on the sentiment tag from the same set then popped it up with dimensionals.
I added a few gears made from the Cogs punch, and sprinkled a few inside too.
Here's a peek at the inside with touches from the front.
Now to finish the envelope with a hint of what is in inside.
 DONE!
Hootie says " Hoot Hoot Hooray...Thanks for stopping by today!
Please leave a comment with your thoughts; I hope you will stop by again!"

Diane, this is fabulous! I love all your distressed edges and the glazed clock is superb. The frayed ribbon and the bit of chain just sent it over the top! Beautifully done inside and out! (hugs)

Di,
This is FABULOUS! How very vintage of you, love all the details, the glazing of the clock face, the brad, wide ribbon all the distressing, but the end-all is the chain from an old necklace. Talk about recycling, wowzer! Awesome job!

Fabulous Diane. You were very clever with the chain. I really like the glazed clock face and the finishing inside the card. I have to get motivated to do that as well. It just really finishes the card. Take care and have a great day. Hugs Karen
