Hi everyone! Today I'm posting my card for two challenges! I just Love when that happens, don't you?
The Paper Players has a
"Spring has Sprung" challenge #85 and Jaydee thought it was time to make a Spring card.
Then the
Pals Paper Arts has a
"Color with a Twist" challenge #130, and we must use Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke (or similar colors) and add a color of your choice.
The color of choice for me was Melon Mambo and here is my card.
I finally broke down and tried this cute flower featured in the SAB book. I thought it was going to hard, but in fact, it's pretty darn easy. I used two of the 'flirtatious fabric' patterns for the blossom. Just a few stitches to hold everything together and wallah!
A cute button tied with embroidery yarn to make the center, then the blossom sits atop the die cut leaves. The base is Artichoke, then layered with the lighter green. (can't believe I used wild wasabi instead of lucky limeade! - dahhh). I guess I forgot that from the time I looked at the challenges to the time it took me to go down to my scrap room!
Here's a peek at the inside that will remain blank until I decide the occasion to mail. The flower is also from "Apple Blossoms" set and I thought it worked well with the fabric flower. In fact this fabric flower went together so easy, I made another but this time I reversed the green card stock placements and used the "Fun Flowers" die cuts in the same fabric I had in my stash for the blossom.
The good news is I did use a lucky limeade button on this one! BUT it's not matching that wild wasabi too well.
The sentiment and random back stamping is also from the "Apple Blossoms" set on both cards. If you look close you'll notice the back stamping behind the blossom and to the left, as well as behind the sentiment. Sorry but this is not a very good photo.
Now before I go... I have to confess one more thing. This morning while blog surfing some of my favorite designers, I made a comment on
Ann Marie Hile's blog about OCD. She said she would redo part of her card when her OCD kicked in. I commented that I just don't have OCD and would let it go... too much work.
Well... I DID have to redo my second card!
When I went to glue the inside piece I realized I had glued the front piece on but the card was UPSIDE DOWN... so it opened backwards. What a STUMPER I am. Needless to say I had to rip the front off, turn the card around and reglue the panel on the card front.
HUGS!

Please leave a comment with your thoughts; I hope you will stop by again!"
