Paper Players Color Challenge #34

Today's post is for the Paper Players Color Challenge #34... and let me tell you... this was tough color combo for me. Here are the colors we were to use:
See what I mean... I really LOVE Crumb Cake but it was the combination of Cajun Craze with Cherry Cobbler together that was ... well... challenging!

I made this for a dear friend that just lost her husband to let her know she'll always be in my heart. They both loved to garden so I dug out my "Garden from the Heart" set which was in a previous mini catty.

I started with a Crumb Cake CS base and matted a piece of Cherry Cobbler CS. I stamped the drying foliage in Cajun Craze and the hat and small sentiment in Crumb Cake.

I colored the flower stems in Old Olive and flower buds in Cherry Cobbler. It really needed something so I cut some Cherry Cobbler polka dotted DSP to make the ribbon on the hat stand out and finished it off with a pretty pearl.
I also stamped a few butterflies in Crumb Cake, and the large sentiment in Cherry Cobbler; both from the SAB set "So Happy For You". (I really love the font in this set).

I finished it off buy wrapping some crumb cake colored twine around the fold and threading a needle to sew around the drying bundles and  tied a knot to hold the ends.
The inside sentiment is from "Thanks for Caring" that is in the current Occasions mini and stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White. (What DON'T I like in that new mini!). I added the garden glove stamp colored in with Old Olive and Cajun Craze, then added a few more butterflies in Crumb Cake to give a touch of the front. That's it... Done!

I'm so glad I was able to get this card done for the challenge,  as I'll be sooooooooo busy this coming week, there will be little, if any, time for stamping... bummer!

Hootie says "Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment".
