Emboss Resist -Christmas in July - PPA{100} & PP{54}

Hi and Happy 4th of July everyone!
This card will be used for two challenges; the Pals Paper Arts {#100}"favorite technique" challenge; emboss resist, AND for the Paper Players  "Christmas in July" challenge{#54).
 I hope you're enjoying your July 4th weekend as much as I am, which sparked me to use this holiday to choose my color scheme for my challenges. So get ready for a Red, White & BLUE Christmas in July using the Emboss Resist technique.
So here is my CAS card.
I started with a cherry cobbler base and stamped the pine tree from "Lovely as Tree"  in versamark on the inside and front card stock of my card then rounded the corners.
I tore a page from an old dictionary and when I found just the right page.....
I stamped the same tree, that I used on the BG, three times in versamark on the dictionary piece; I then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I tore around all the edges of the dictionary page, then covered with bordering blue ink using a dauber. I took a pencil and curled one corner.
The sentiment was inked in versamark then cherry cobbler and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I sheared a piece of crumb cake seam binding, then using a craft knife to sliced a small slit under the word Xmas and poked the sheared seam binding through it and taped to the back of the page; then secured the end to front with a glue dot.
I added some bling with a few soft blue rhinestones to the middle tree
I then attached the dictionary page to the card front. Done!
I haven't finished the inside with a sentiment yet but the BG versamark trees will be waiting when my new stamps arrive to receive just the right one. Hard to see here.
 I hope you like my Emboss Resist Christmas in July challenge card.
Hootie says " Hoot Hoot Hooray...Thanks for stopping by today!
Please leave a comment with your thoughts; I hope you will stop by again!"

Diane, the emboss resist on this particular piece of paper torn from a dictionary is PERFECT. I love how you added the embellishments to the trees and scrunched the ribbon on the sides. A perfect shabby chic card that produced stunning results.
So glad you were able to join the Paper Players again this week

Your Christmas card is fabulous Diane. Love the red, white and blue theme, and of course, Lovely as a Tree only adds to the Christmas feeling. I am in the same boat as you with not getting around to visiting blogs. Work has been crazy with tight deadlines, trying to get swaps done for convention and just life in general. Good thing...I have only 20 more sleeps. Hugs Karen
