CAS Red & Green Sketch Christmas (PP#68, FMS#6)

This post using the "Beautiful Season" stamp set will hopefully work for two challenges; The Paper Players CAS Red & Green {challenge #68}, and Freshly Made Sketches {challenge #6}. This card is not the typical Christmas Red & Green and I turned the sketch a bit, but I hope it will work for both. Here is my card.
I used a crumb cake base and 'temporarily' added a piece of DSP. Then both were run through the Big Shot using the stripes embossing folder. I removed the DSP and I wrapped it with a piece of cherry cobbler seam binding, then glue permanently to the card front. If you look close you can see the embossed DSP.
The bird image from "Beautiful Season" was stamped on very vanilla with versamark & early espresso ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored the image with crumb cake, cherry cobbler and lucky limeade inks using a blender pen, and few write markers. The die cut piece was popped up with dimensional.
I stamped Merry Christmas on very vanilla and punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch and added to a LARGE Spice Cake designer button. Added a snippet of cobbler seam binding and popped up with double dimensionals. Done!
I hope you like my card today.

Di, this is gorgeous, love the image and the red/green is traditional, but fresh. Of course I always love polka-dots too, great Christmas card.

Great card! I love colors in a non-traditional way and you've done that here. What a great idea to emboss the polka dots. Love the look. Thanks so much for joining us this week at the Paper Players!

Great card Diane. The double embossing trick is great and then you don't have to worry about lining up. I hope that you are taking some time for yourself during your busy schedule. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your comments. I always look forward to them.
