Great Surprise - I made the "Best Dressed List for 2011" at the PPA

Wow Wee! What exciting news for me today. I just received an email telling me that one of my challenge cards was chosen by Nina Dee as a winner on the  "Best Dressed List for 2011" over at Pal Paper Arts!   challenge blog. How exciting is that!
Here is my card that was chosen for the month of August by Nina.
This was my very first attempt to make a 'lollie' card.
You can read all the details of my ''lollie' card from my original post here.

More exciting news.... my VERY talented SU up-line Nance Leedy from Canopy Crafts was also chosen as the winner for April. How wonderful! If you would like view all the other monthly winners stop by Pals Paper Arts for the complete list.

Once again I want to say THANK YOU to all the Pals Paper Arts design team members for such wonderful inspiration every week of the year, and a special Thank You to the very talented  Nina Dee from "Designs by Nina Dee" for choosing my card as one of the monthly winners. Please stop by and visit Nina along with all the other fabulous members of the Pals Paper Arts design team.
Happy New Year.

Established Elegance

This is such a busy time for me but I decided to post this card that I made for a friend to give to her goddaughter for her 18th birthday. I used the Established Elegance stamp set and the inspiration came from Ann Schach here. Here is my card for my friend.
I started with a pretty in pink base embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. I used some bordering blue cs to mat the DSP (retired) and stamped a few images from Established Elegance on the DSP and glued to the card front.
I added some scrunchy baja breeze seam binding to the top edge.
I stamped the dress form and flower from the same set and embossed with the oval from the Textured Impressions set and distressed the edges with soft suede ink, then added with dimensionals. A few flowers colored with stamp write markers were added as well a sentiment with a few rhinestones and the number 18, both mated and popped up.  I also 'attempted' to make a seam binding rose (ugh) and added a soft pink pearl.
A peek at the inside and done!
The colors really are much prettier but my photography STINKS!
Hope she'll like the card I made for her Godchild's 18th birthday!
This is my last post for 2011. Have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Putting-on-the-Ritz {PPA123}

Hello everyone! I posting this for the Pals Paper Arts  'Putting-on-the-Ritz' challenge {PPA123}. First let me say I have to leave for the airport in one hour so this is going to be a super short post as far as details! I also must mention I CASED this from one of my favorite stampers, but I can't remember who at the moment, and I don't have time to find it right now, but I LOVED it...so thanks for the inspiration!  Here's my card.
I made this card last night at class using the "Christmas Lodge" stamp set and the masking technique. I masked the snow using a torn piece of scrap paper and stamped the lodge in Stazon black ink. Then I used daubers and sponges to create the night sky with pool party, pacific point, crushed concord, and night of navy inks.
I also took a dauber and with more masking and light touches added inks to give the snow some dimension.
Then I used a two way glue pen and sprinkled glitter for the sky and some Mica Flakes for the snow mounds. I used a non SU puffy pen and heat gun for the roof.
Then the inside also has a touch of glitter on the trees but it's hard to see in the photos.
Done!
I hope you liked my "Putting-on-the-Ritz" card for the PPA 123 challenge,
Now I'm off to see my grand kids! Yippee!
