Masculine Valentine !!! {PP29}

Hi everyone.
This post is sooooooooooo a last minute thought; but it was too funny not to post and share that thought process with you as well.
Let me explain.... First I love to play the challenges on several blogs when I can; and Paper Players is one of those.
Well the challenge this week is Valentines... that's it... just Valentines. Should be easy enough; right?             NOT!
I have less Valentines stamps than I do Halloween, and since I'm sworn to hold off buying anything new until SAB I'm plum out of luck. BUT just because I couldn't order, didn't mean that I didn't get few customer orders (which were shipped to me) and WHAT do you think I found inside the box????              Give up?
Well if you're a demo,  we got a FREE rub on package for the first order after the new Occasions Mini went live.

Now you probably think I used the rub-ons for my card, right? NOPE!
I didn't want to open the rub on package because I figured I'd use it as prize for the biggest order during SAB or something like that. So long story short...... here's my card. Now try to keep in mind how my gal pals make fun of me because I throw almost NOTHING out as you read the details of this card.

The card base is made from gray CS and embossed with the square lattice embossing folder. Then I punched the corners with a (none SU) corner punch.

Can you demos guess what I used???? Look closely..... YES! I cut up the scrap tag that was glued on the rub-on package (garbage) to let us know this was a FREE gift! Told you it was a funny story. I cut off the top part which shows the Heart shaped air balloon, and I also cut the strip "Happy Valentine's Day!" from the bottom. Both pieces were matted with cherry cobbler CS. One with the label punch (extended) and one with a square mat and corner punch.
On the air balloon heart piece, I distressed the edges with silver shimmer paint (hard to see the shine in the photo) and popped IT up instead of the whole mat. I stamped some XOXO's in shimmer paint on the piece of label punch I cut off to extend the original and also popped it to be the same level as the top piece.
I stamped some more XOXO's on a scrap piece of cobbler and used the heart embosslit to make another heart and tucked it into the sentiment. I know this will be really hard to see as well. Can you see the little XO's tab stamped with silver shimmer paint?

There really is XO's on the heart but in the picture it just looks like I made a mess with the shimmer paint. So sorry it didn't photo well but I wanted you to see how it is tucked into the sentiment.

Oh look you can see it better here, right? Now on to the inside. MORE Garbage!

The small gray tab on the side is also from the same tag garbage! Too funny right?
Told you so. Well that's it. Hope you like my Masculine Valentine!
 Guess who's getting it?   8-)

Hey... what the heck. I was on a roll. Here's my little treat box I redecorate for each holiday or season and leave out to promote these cute little boxes. So what's next?
You guessed it........ VALENTINE'S DAY!

This cute little box uses my only SU Valentine stamp, the heart embosslit (3 times) and some Holiday mini (retired) DSP
The sentiment and the 3 hearts are distressed with cheery cobbler ink.
I didn't have any cobbler ribbon (yet) so I used some none SU burgundy ribbon from my stash. OK now that IS it! Hope you enjoyed my story.
Hooties says "THANKS for stopping by and please leave a comment".

Diane you are too funny! I so thought that balloon was a rub-on--I never would have thought it's from the package! How clever is that? Love the rotating treat box too. So glad you could get creative for the Paper Players this week!

Diane what a great story and look what you produced from all that garbage. I may have to go looking through my garbage to see what I did with the label. Plus I wasn't as thoughtful as you and keep it as a gift. Keep it up.

Look at you, being "green" while creating some fabulous projects, Diane! Awesome use of those rub-ons and thanks for sharing the inspiration for those treat boxes. I have 2 packs of those stashed in my craft room. Your post completely brought a smile to my face today! :)
