Today's post is for the Paper Players challenge Anything Goes #32. The design team created the most beautiful inspirations using some of the sets from the New Occasions Mini, but since I'm still waiting for my SAB box to arrive on my porch this week, currently I don't have any of these new sets.
I still wanted to play in the challenge, so fortunately for me it's "anything goes", therefore I am submitting my second attempt at using my new MDS.
This is a single page layout I used to make a page for a co-worker. The page showcases his new baby Kaven. He sent the photo via email to several people at work. Here is the original photo. Isn't he adorable?
I took the photo and made a cute page (I think) of his little guy using the MDS Jolly Holidays DSP - which I think is so versatile for more than just the holiday. Here is my page. I used the green background then cut a photo frame and angled it, then filled with cherry cobbler DSP. I thought it added interest at an angle since I only had one photo to work with. I matted the photo in coordinating green CS then layered 3 rows of seam binding ribbon. Then I added a bow that is topped with a large pearl center.
Even after I added all the sentiments, scrolling motif and his name it seemed lacking something. I only had the one photo, so I cropped his little face with that big smile. Then I added the circle punch and filled it with the cropped photo. I then matted that in a red CS and added a final sentiment "Fairy Tales really do come true"... which I felt was the perfect choice.
I printed this on photo paper and gave it to my co-worker.... it is now in a frame on his desk! Guess he really did like, and I hope you like it too!

Diane, this is adorable! What a perfect backdrop you created in MDS for Kaven. Really fabulous job. The strong colors really help to highlight his fabulous little face! Doing the closeup as well as the full shot was a really great idea!
Love it! Thanks for playing along with the Paper Players again this week. I always love to see what you create.

Hi Di, what a great job you did, love the colors and especially the close up of the baby in the circle. Who said red and green is just for Christmas.
Is this the baby you made the diaper cake for?
I love your layout!!! Such a handsome boy, so sweet. I love how you created the close-up shot. Those colors are awesome!!!! Hugs,
That little kiddo is adorable and your page is terrific! Any snow yet in the midwest? We await 2 to 3 feet so they say.......

Great MDS page Diane. You did absolutely fabulous work on this. The little munchkin with the red outfit really fits the page you designed. Cropping the picture and then adding it to the page in a circle really sets it off. Hats of to you.
Oh my gosh...is he too sweet or what! Your scrapbook page is perfect!
Diane, I'm with you waiting on my SAB order to arrive. I'm stalking my UPS guy, haha!! I love, love, LOVE your layout of adorable Kaven. What a cutie he is!
