Build-A-Blossom PPA82 & CD98

Happy Sunday everyone.
Today I'm posting a card that will work for two challenges; The Pals Paper Arts   theme challenge #82 and also the  Color Dare Color Challenge #98.

For the PPA challenge - Scallops of any kind could be used, and for the CD challenge - the colors are Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke and any Neutral.
It's always fun when the card you make will work for two challenges, isn't it? So with that being said... here's my card I'm sending to a friend going through chemo treatment.
I started with a 'Perfect Plum' CS base then added three layers (Always Artichoke CS, & two layers of Perfect Plum DSP) all scalloped with the scallop edge punch then glued to the front.

Next came that pretty blossom created with the new "Build A Blossom" stamp set. I double stamped the large petals in a lighter shade of purple {retired} then accented each with perfect plum ink on strips of whisper white CS [stamping the petals on strips of cs reduces the waste]. I punched them out with the "Blossom Petals" punch then repeated the process with the small petals.
I built the blossom by adding sticky strip to a 1 3/4" circle of perfect plum  cs. Then I used the mat stack to poke the hole in the center.  I placed four large flower petals down on the circle and pressed to the sticky strip, then repeated with four more,  and then layered the small petals with tom bow glue. I pushed a large flower brad through the center hole but did not spread the clasp yet.

Before adding to the front I cut 3 large leafs with the build a blossom die and shaded the edges with AA ink; then held the Blossom in my hand and eye-balled where they would lay and glued to the card front with tom bow.

Next I stamped a sentiment on w.w. and punched with the smaller tag punch, then matted with an A.A. cs larger tag. I tied it to the brad by looping some twine around the pin with a bow, then spread the clasp on the back of the circle.
I mounted the large blossom with sentiment to the card front dimensionals.
Here is a peek at the inside with elements of the front; scraps of the DSP, a small stamped petal and a few more scallops!

For the finishing touch, I 'finally' remembered to lined my envelope!

Well there you have it,  hope you like it.

NO Mo Jo Monday

Hi everyone... I  really wanted to post something but my MO JO was gone!
Now what do I do when that happens????  I CASE something. Don't You?
So tonight's post was pretty easy... since I had NO Mo Jo
All you have to do is turn to one of your favorite designers and before you know it... you're cruising along at top speed!
I wanted to do something vintage so OF course I turned to Ann Schach the queen of vintage, at least she is for me. So that was an EASY choice.
I LOVE her beautiful vintage style and I remembered a card she did back in January that blew me away; with that said...here is my CASE card.
Not sure why this photo looks so light, but it's really a marina mist blue CS base, but it looks more like bashful blue doesn't it? Anyway, I took a piece of Kraft CS and ran it through the BS using the new framed tulips embossing folder (love it), and distressed with some close to cocoa ink and glued to the front.

Then I layered the Botanical Gazette DSP (birdcage) inside the framed tulips and to the right side; I distressed this piece of DSP with some marina mist ink.
I went right to work "trying" to scrunch the crumb cake seam binding and finally stuck it down... whew! When I pulled the middle strings.... dang string kept pulling out so finally gave up. I lined this with the tiny string of pearls on both sides of the seam binding and put a few on the top of the cage handle.

I took another piece of the same DSP and ran it through the framed tulips EF then tore the edges and distressed with close to cocoa ink on the torn edge AND on the embossed tulips (thanks for this tip Ann) with a dauber. Doesn't it look cool?

Next I stamped the bird from Nature Walk (LOVE this set) on marina mist CS in Early Espresso then cut it out and distressed with Close to Cocoa ink and popped it up with a dimensional. Of course it needed a pearl eye.

A couple of punches from the two step bird punch made easy foliage using the leaf branches and bird wings scored down the middle and highlighted with a marker. I also colored my vanilla Rosette with a marker in pumpkin pie. All were  stuck down with glue dots.

The last two little creatures (butterfly & bee) also from the Nature Walk set were stamped, distress and glittered up with some stickles and a small pearl on each, then stuck with a few more dimensionals.

Now for a peek at the inside with touches from the front. Haven't decided on the sentiment yet so I left it blank.

Well that's it for now... "THANKS ANN" for your never-ending inspiration! Although your card has much more detail,  I hope I did your CASE proud!

I really love them all!

Paper Players Color Challenge #34

Today's post is for the Paper Players Color Challenge #34... and let me tell you... this was tough color combo for me. Here are the colors we were to use:
See what I mean... I really LOVE Crumb Cake but it was the combination of Cajun Craze with Cherry Cobbler together that was ... well... challenging!

I made this for a dear friend that just lost her husband to let her know she'll always be in my heart. They both loved to garden so I dug out my "Garden from the Heart" set which was in a previous mini catty.

I started with a Crumb Cake CS base and matted a piece of Cherry Cobbler CS. I stamped the drying foliage in Cajun Craze and the hat and small sentiment in Crumb Cake.

I colored the flower stems in Old Olive and flower buds in Cherry Cobbler. It really needed something so I cut some Cherry Cobbler polka dotted DSP to make the ribbon on the hat stand out and finished it off with a pretty pearl.
I also stamped a few butterflies in Crumb Cake, and the large sentiment in Cherry Cobbler; both from the SAB set "So Happy For You". (I really love the font in this set).

I finished it off buy wrapping some crumb cake colored twine around the fold and threading a needle to sew around the drying bundles and  tied a knot to hold the ends.
The inside sentiment is from "Thanks for Caring" that is in the current Occasions mini and stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White. (What DON'T I like in that new mini!). I added the garden glove stamp colored in with Old Olive and Cajun Craze, then added a few more butterflies in Crumb Cake to give a touch of the front. That's it... Done!

I'm so glad I was able to get this card done for the challenge,  as I'll be sooooooooo busy this coming week, there will be little, if any, time for stamping... bummer!

Vintage Those were the Days PPA80

Today's card is for the Pals Paper Arts  {PPA80} "Vintage - Those Were the Days" challenge. Here is the inspiration photo. Will you just look at that vintage chic outfit!  Okay now you remember those full skirts with petticoats...... right? Very June Cleaver... don't you think?
Well I really like the colors too, so here is my take on it.

I'm sure you know (if you visit here) I don't have the best lighting to take photos but the card base is Kraft, then layered with  Rich Razzleberry CS, then another layer of the new Springtime Vintage DSP from the Occasions mini. Just LOVE that DSP. I cut and added a piece of lace from my stash  then topped that with another strip of the Springtime Vintage DSP.

I used my Big Shot to cut 3 flowers from the simple flower embosslit, and a few leaves of Pear Pizzazz CS. I distressed the flowers with Rose Red ink and crumpled them a bit before attaching with a glue dot. I did the same distress on the butterfly and added a touch of glitter glass for a body, and some twisted lace strings for the antenni; both set in crystal effects.

I wasn't sure who I would give this card to, but I've needed SO many  "Get Well" cards lately, I decided to have this one in reserve.

I punched two sizes of tags, the larger one from Razzleberry CS and the smaller from the SV DSP. I stamped a simple "hello" and "I care" from two different sets (?) then added a scrap of lace wrapped around the bottom. I looped a piece of old olive ribbon through the top and popped it up with a dimensional.

Still wasn't finished fussing, (say that fast three times!) so I added an antique button tied with some twine.  A peek at the inside with touches of the front.

Well there you have it.
My take on the  PPA  "Vintage - Those Were the Days" challenge.
I hope you enjoyed your stop today.
