I just couldn't wait to try making these adorable pansies. I have seen them on many blogs, and decided that I would use them on several of the MAY birthday cards I had to get in the mail. So if you are on the recieving end, I sure hope your card has arrived by now. Anyway..... on with the show.
This is also one of the cards the girls made at the last card class I held. They fell in love with these pansies and I wish you could have seen all the beautiful color combos there were.
This card appears a little 'dull' in the photo, but I assure you it is not.
For the card I used pumpkin pie CS for the base. On the front and inside pieces I tore the edge of the Whisper White and inked with bashful blue to help define the torn effect. I also tore and embossed the Bashful Blue piece, then layered to the W.W. I used a piece of Sweatpea DSP with the scalloped edge punch to go around the large W.W. oval. Stamped a sentiment on the oval center right. A few leaves from one of the small dies helps to anchor the pansies. The pansies are each made from two butterfly punches spritzed heavily with water and touches of reinkers to color (your choice). A touch of marker to the centers and a brad finish the job. The oval is topped off with a Bashful Blue corduroy button.
Here's a peak at the inside. So cute, don't ya think?
I hope you like my card, now get out that butterfly punch and make some pansies of your own!
