Change of a Dress - {PPA 100} your favorite technique challenge

Whooo Hoo the Pals Paper Arts is celebrating their 100th challenge! Wowzer wowzer! This challenge says to use your favorite technique....hmmmm that is going to be HARD because I like so many different kinds of techniques. So I thought and I thought and finally settled on a combination... embossing and paper piecing because I LOVE layers and texture on my cards too. I also used some retired and new items; and here's my card.
This card is for a friend that just moved back into her NEW house... but it's really not new, just totally remodeled to accommodate her handicapped sister. The house is 'finally' done and it's beautiful! I started my card by embossing the card front with the square lattice embossing folder and rounding the corners.
I added a layer of the new Wisteria cardstock and punched opposite corners with a rounder.
The focal point features the dress forms from Sew Suite stamped on whisper white and then I matted the WW on melon mambo cardstock and added some melon mambo pom pom trim to one side and popped up with dimensionals.
The form stands were outlined with a silver paint pens to look like metal stands.
I added some Flirtatious Fabric to the forms to resemble one dress done and one in progress. The finished dress has a ric-rac belt and two tiny pink pearls for accents.
I stamped the tape measure from Sew Suite on Just Add Cake DSP and cut it out and added silver paint pen to resemble the metal end on most tape measures.
I tucked a designer button under the mat and on top of the tape.
I also added a scrap of the wisteria fabric to the sentiment and added a tiny pale pink button. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags. I also did the pins in silver paint pen.
Then I popped this up with dimensionals as well.
The inside sentiment is from Humor in High Heels but was so fitting for the card.
"Change of a Dress".... too cute, right? You see, my friend has been living at her deceased mother's house caring for her sister while the construction to handicap her house has been going on, and now she gets to move back home. So it's really not a NEW house, but if you could see the finished product, you'd think it was exactly that!
I had some odd envelopes that match the wisteria perfectly.. so of course I added a few images to finish the envelope for my card. I hope you like it and stop by again soon. Hugs.

Hootie says " Hoot Hoot Hooray...Thanks for stopping by today!
Please leave a comment with your thoughts; I hope you will stop by again!"

PPA #60 Halloween

Today my post if for the Pals Paper Arts #60 Halloween challenge. The inspiration piece is this poster of a spooky witch from Wicked!

Although I'm not a Halloween nut like many of pals, I have to admit my Halloween stamps are very limited. I did managed to make a card, but I must confess, this is NOT ALL SU product. Most of my Halloween stamps and stuff I had before becoming an SU demo. But enough said...here goes.
The CS, black and Razzleberry is SU product, but not the DSP. Also the sentiment on the bottom front is a retired SU set "Humor in High Heels".  So cute. The other stamps I'll just call unnamed for now.
I covered the black card base with unnamed DSP and layered with some strips of sparkley unnamed DSP in my stash. I punched the witches brew from the unnamed DSP and mounted to a circle of Razzleberry CS and stuck to the sparkly DSP with a few glue dots. The unnamed witch was stamped on Whisper White CS and mounted to two punched varied size circles of Old Olive and Razzleberry CS. The witch was popped up with dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment on the bottom card front from the retired SU set "Humor in High Heels" right on the unnamed orange DSP. Fits the occasion just fine I think.
The inside is a piece of Whisper White CS and strip scrap of the unnamed DSP. I haven't even stamped a sentiment yet.  hhhhmmmmmm. Told you I didn't have too many Halloween stamps.
Well that's it for now. Hootie says "Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment. Until next time ... hope you know WITCH shoes to wear!
